JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Computer Network Field Technician
Duty Station: Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
Reports To: Sr. Field Technician Manager

Job Summary
A Computer Network Field Technician at Omnivir is a team player with effective interpersonal skills. They have a client-centric focus, they take initiative, use good judgment, and are well organized. They work with a high level of accuracy and great attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.
An Omnivir Network Field Technician has excellent oral & written communication skills, along with an ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Our full-time technicians must be available on call within an 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday. As Field Technicians do commute to perform work at client sites, a personal reliable vehicle is a requirement.

Field Technicians must be available for work on-call within an 8-hour shift during weekdays.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations, and peripheral equipment
- Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
- Load computer tapes and disks and install software and printer paper and forms
- Provide problem-solving services to network users
- Perform routine network startup and shut down and maintain control records
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Web-server hardware and software
- Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
Computer & Technology Knowledge
The Computer Network Technician should also be familiar with and have technical knowledge of:

- Desktop publishing software

Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Salary: $35,000.00 per year
